Journey Towards Noble......

         “Nothing in life is to be feared; it is only to be understood” this was said by Marie Curie. She is first women who has been honored with noble prize and only person who has been honored with noble prize twice. Her two daughters and husband has been also honored with noble prize. In warsaw, Poland Marie skiodowska curie was born on 7th November 1867. Her mother was teacher and her father was professor. At that time Poland’s atmosphere was not good for women. People were opposed to women’s for education. Marie’s mother died when Marie was just 10 years old. She had completed her education under very difficult circumstances. She used to teach kids for money. She wanted to purse education further but that time there were no importance for women’s education. There was one university named ‘Flying university’ who working secretly for women’s education. Marie took admission in flying university. 

        Later in 1891 she went to Paris for higher education. She completed her post graduation in physics in Paris. She started doing research there. She didn’t have lab for her research then Peri curie helped her with lab. They started work together and fall in love with each other and married at 26 July 1895. Later on 12 September 1897, She gave birth to a girl ‘Irene curie’. Later they both worked together on radio activity and for that they offered noble prize in 1903. On 6 December 1904, She gave birth to another girl ‘Eve Curie’. Everything was going well in marie’s life, suddenly her husband died in accident. Then she started to work in paris university as professor. She had continued her research then in 1904 she offered second noble prize for ‘purification of radium and for discovery of polonium. She discovered both polonium and radium. Radium was found very useful and revolutionary in medical science. Radium is very useful in cancer treatment. She educated her children. Later her both daughters were honored with noble prize. In 1935 Irene was honored with noble for discovery of artificial radioactivity and in 1965 Eve was honored with noble for working in Unisef and for peace. Curie family is the first family  honoured with 4 noble prizes.



        Marie worked as teacher at very young age for her education and completed her education in Flying university. First her mother left her very early and after marriage her husband also died but she never gave up and continued her education and completed her all responsibilities as parent. On 4 July 1934 at sanatorium in Sancellemoz merie curie left the world due to aplastic anamia from exposure of her scientific research and in the course of her radiological work at field hospitals during world war I.
